TUSCANY, ITALY

  • Nose: Fruity and flowery, with essence of apple and almond.

Palate: Dry, warm, quite soft with lemon flavors accented by a nutty texture that revels itself in the finish.

Pairing: This wine is a perfect companion to appetizer, poultry, seafood and cheese.

Because of Vernaccia di San Gimignano’s ancient tradition and unquestionable quality, it was the first white wine to be awarded D.O.C. recognition in 1966. Since 1993 the Vernaccia S. Gimignano has entered into the category of D.O.C.G. recognition.

Signano 2024 Vernaccia di San Gimignano DOCG, characterized by its crisp, fruity (apple/lemon), and mineral-driven profile, pairs best with Tuscan seafood, white meats, and light pastas. Ideal pairings include seafood risotto, grilled white fish, pasta with white sauces, such as ricotta and pesto.

    Key Pairings for Signano Vernaccia:
    Seafood & Shellfish:

Raw fish appetizers like tartare or oysters, grilled or baked white fish (seabass, cod), seafood pasta/risotto, and fried calamari.
    White Meat & Poultry:
Roasted chicken, grilled pork chops, and veal (vitello tonnato).
    Vegetarian & Starters:
Pecorino and goat cheese, asparagus dishes, fried vegetables, and artichokes.
    Traditional Tuscan: Ribollita
(vegetable stew) or pici pasta with savory sauces.

Serve chilled (12–14°C) to highlight the wine’s refreshing acidity and subtle bitter almond finish, which cleanses the palate after richer, savory, or creamy dishes.
