ALSACE, FRANCE

The 2022 Pinot Gris comes with an attractive, reductive smokiness. The beautiful, ripe pear notions come through on the palate. This is bone-dry, yet the fruit shines. Bright, fresh and bone-dry. (Bone-dry)

89 Points, Wine Enthusiast:

Medium-bodied and expressive, with flavors of apple pie, vanilla bean, and subtle earl grey tea. The palate is balanced and lively, showing a savory note emerging on the finish. Approachable yet layered, with gentle complexity and a clean, lingering close. — Aleks Zecevic

Founded in 1580, Léon Beyer is one of the oldest Alsatian family-owned estates. Owner Marc Beyer, 13th generation, along with his son, Yann Léon and daughter, Sophie Beyer, and a team of twenty members run the day-to-day. The estate farms 70 hectares, 20 of which are estate-owned with holdings in two choice Grand Cru sites; Eichberg and Pfersigberg. The farming is sustainable, and the winemaking is traditional with the use of modern techniques.
