Coteaux du Loir, France [tributary of the Loire River Valley]
100% Chenin Blanc
Located in Lhomme, in the Sarthe department, the estate tends the vineyards of the AOC Jasnières and Coteaux du Loir; the soils include tuffeau and other formations that influence the wines' acidity and minerality.
The Méthode Traditionnelle Les P’Tits Vélos à Pignon Fixe Nature from Domaine de Bellivière is a natural sparkling wine that captures the essence of the Loire with an elegant fruity and floral expression. Its production follows strict biodynamic methods, reflecting a deep commitment to sustainability and respect for the terroir. On the nose, this wine reveals an intriguing bouquet of citrus, green apples, and light notes of fresh bread, due to its natural fermentation in the bottle without added sugars. On the palate, the attack is lively, with a delicate mousse and a refreshing balance between acidity and white-fleshed fruits. Meticulously selected grapes and minimal human intervention in the cellar allow this méthode traditionnelle to express remarkable purity and clarity. Ideal as an aperitif, it pairs beautifully with light fish dishes or fresh appetizers. A true gem for lovers of natural wines seeking an authentic and lively experience.
Created by Éric and Christine Nicolas in 1995, the estate developed across numerous parcels between Jasnières and Coteaux du Loir; the family-run operation is now carried on by Clément and Laure-Anne Nicolas. In 2016 they also launched a commercial venture called “Les Arches” to address climatic and market challenges.
An agricultural approach attentive to soil and biodiversity: organic, biodynamically oriented production with winemaking interventions aimed at respecting the terroir's expression.
