Can Blau is a red wine from the D.O. Montsant produced by Cellers Can Blau, one of the seven wineries that are part of the Orowines group. Cellers Can Blau was established in 2003 by the Gil family in El Molar (Catalonia).

The climate in this region is Mediterranean but with a certain continental influence. The mountains serve as a natural barrier against maritime influence, resulting in a significant temperature variation between day and night. In general, winters are cold, and summers are dry and hot.

This wine is a blend of the two typical varieties of the D.O. Montsant region, with garnacha and cariñena, and a small percentage of syrah. The vineyards have an average age of 40 years. The soils differ for each variety: slate and limestone soil for the garnacha, sandy and clay soil for the cariñena, and limestone soil for the syrah.

Regarding production, after manual harvesting, vinification is carried out separately for each variety. A maceration-fermentation process is conducted in stainless steel tanks for 20 days at a controlled temperature of 25°C. Finally, Can Blau is aged for a minimum of 12 months in new French oak barrels.
